I'm pretty dang excited. I finally got my competition trailer!
Isn't it an adorable little beast? We have to think of a good name for it but that will take some time. It needs to be an earned moniker.
I'm excited because this means we can
- Compete on our own some next year and with some friends
- Cater events for work, friends, and family
- Do onsite cooks in support of Operation Barbecue Relief as needed
- Tailgate at the next level
I'll do a full write up after I get to use it thoroughly but here's the long and short of it. Bought it from a customer pit maker in Tullahoma, TN (Near Bonnaroo and the Jack Daniels Invitational) and it doesn't really have a brand name or anything. It's not a Jambo or Pitmaker but it fits my budget and towing capacity limitations.

Left top is the warmer box, below that is the fire box and to the right is the cooking chamber. |
The center hole is where my thermometer goes. |
The grates slide out for access and cleaning. |
Built in work shelf on the back. |
Rigged with lights and ready for the road. |
One of the stacks and damper. |
Tuning plate to help spread the heat from the firebox more evenly. |
Heavy duty racks. |
He even put a charcoal rack in case the main chamber needs to be used as a grill. I'll just use it to hold a water pan. |
Warmer box can be used to cook sides like BBQ beans or to hold foods at a certain temp. |
Stay cool handles for the fire box and warmer box. |
Fire box from the front. The vents are stainless, they just have plastic covering on them in this pic. |
Example of their welds. |

Hey! My Johnsonville magnets fit the sides (only when cool). Alexis dubbed it the "Brat Wagon". |
I can't wait to fire this pit up!
You know who else recently went to Tullahoma to buy select equipment? Mr. Adam Perry Lang, one of the newest inductees to the BBQ Hall of Fame, that's who! See, great minds think alike (ha ha). This is his second video in the series where the famed pitmaster travels the country getting the perfect tools for his ultimate tailgate.
